Dans House

Dan's House exudes history and presence. Built in 1888 and home to generations of islanders, the house has witnessed harsh winters, long summers and lives lived close to nature. In 1961, Dan Boddum Larsen took over the house. Although his time as owner only lasted a few years, he left such a mark that the house still bears his name today. It says something about Vejrø - here the stories live on and people's presence is felt long after. Today, Dan's House stands as the heart of the island - close to the greenhouses, surrounded by peace and greenery. The house has been lovingly renovated and offers everything you need for a peaceful stay. With room for four adults, a cozy kitchen, a fire in the fireplace and dinner in the garden, you'll have your own base in authentic Vejrø. Order a barbecue basket from Restaurant Skipperly and let the day end with local flavors under the open sky - perhaps with Dan in mind, and with nature as your only company.

Today, the Merchant's House has been carefully renovated and furnished for modern living - with respect for the house's history and roots. The house is close to the greenhouses and can accommodate up to 8 adults in four double rooms. In 1884, the doors to Skolehuset on Vejrø were opened for the first time. The building was purchased by Fejø Municipality for 100 kr. - and formed the framework for the island's school life for many years. Here, children learned to read, write and count amidst the quiet pulse of nature. When the school closed in 1966, the pupils disappeared, but the house remained standing - with its soul and memories intact. Today, Skolehuset has been lovingly restored and furnished for a stay with presence and history in the walls. With room for 4 adults in two double bedrooms - one on the ground floor with direct access to the garden and one upstairs - the house offers both coziness and comfort. The spacious kitchen overlooks the private backyard and is fully equipped to prepare your own meals. In the living room, a fireplace, soft furnishings and a round dining table await, where conversation and silence have equal space. Both morning coffee and dinner can be enjoyed outside - the backyard is sheltered and equipped with a barbecue, table and chairs. And if you want to treat yourself a little extra, you can order a Vejrø Grill Basket from Restaurant Skipperly.
